Segue Magic: Teen Movies (Sweeney)

A couple things: (1) I failed to mention that the fact that Easy A is basically a giant PSA against slut shaming. This is important because it’s an enormous part of why I love this movie. (2) I’m not sure if this is clear, but when I say that I just saw Sixteen Candles, I mean that I just watched it for the first time in ages, not that I just saw it for the first time ever. Everything that I have to say about watching it is sort of, “Is this really the first time I noticed this?” because I know I’m not the first person to point all of this out, but I was extra-horrified by it two or three weeks ago.

Onward!

This video was a good example of why I need to spend more time thinking about what I’m going to say before I say it, because I could have articulated all of that business about the quotability factor of teen movies a lot more clearly and articulately than I did. But at this point, I’m over it. I promise to try to say “whatever” fewer times in future videos.
