Snark Squad Pod #037 – The Meg

Previously: We recorded a live episode at BookNet Fest 2018 all about Pride and Prejudice. WHAT A BLAST!

Marines: Nicole often pokes fun at me for always having like 27 million side projects going on. I can only laugh along or ignore because: true. I’m sure this isn’t news to you, person who is reading this on the blog I started 7 years ago that has itself spawned so many other projects. Anyway, the point is that running BookNet Fest is one of those side projects. This was the second year of the event and honestly, sometimes, I’m just so overwhelmed by the fact that it exists.

Part of why it exists is because of super amazing supportive people in the book community. We ran a fundraising campaign (BookNet Fest is a not for profit event) and one of the perks happened to be picking a topic for Snark Squad Pod. Huge thank you to @NicoleLuckless who scooped up the perk and had a super ready answer when we asked what we would be watching.

In comes 2018’s film The Meg. Naturally, with a relatively new release on deck, we invited Nick Jenkins to join us once again. Nick is the host of Reel Bad, a podcast dedicated to talking about bad movies.

So… did we like it?

I'm a 30-something south Floridan who loves the beach but cannot swim. Such is my life, full of small contradictions and little trivialities. My main life goals are never to take life too seriously, but to do everything I attempt seriously well. After that, my life goals devolve into things like not wearing pants and eating all of the Zebra Cakes in the world. THE WORLD.
