Snark Squad Pod #049 – Spoilers

Previously: We’re gonna win in the end!

Marines: Hello friends! Things continue to be a little quiet on this site, and will be until the new year, but podcast episodes keep coming like clockwork! This week, we’ve got a topical episode, and one that has come up a few times through the year: spoilers.

We’ve invited my good friend and BookNet Fest co-creator, Samantha Lane to chat with us this week. Sam talks all things books and media on her YouTube channel Thoughts on Tomes. You can also find her on Twitter (and pretty much all social media) under the same handle. I honestly wasn’t sure what Sam’s feelings were on spoilers  before we invited her on, so the conversation was chock full of questions for each other and trying to get to the bottom of how pre-information affects our consumption.

Check it out, but beware that this episode has… spoilers. There are significant endgames spoilers for: The Sixth Sense, The Fault in Our Stars, the Divergent series and the Harry Potter series. There are mid-story spoilers for: Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (S2) and Game of Thrones (S4). Questionable spoilers also exist for The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, Ready Player One and Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe.

Okay, now really, check it out!

For those of you watching and reading along, here is our planned upcoming media in the order they’ll be released: My Brilliant Friend (HBO), a book to be chosen by our patrons, and the first 5 films of Phase 3 of the MCU – Captain America: Civil War through Thor: Ragnarok.

We’ll also have a special episode next week looking back on our year of podcasts. If you have any questions you’d like us to answer about podcasting or the media we’ve consumed this year, let us know!

I'm a 30-something south Floridan who loves the beach but cannot swim. Such is my life, full of small contradictions and little trivialities. My main life goals are never to take life too seriously, but to do everything I attempt seriously well. After that, my life goals devolve into things like not wearing pants and eating all of the Zebra Cakes in the world. THE WORLD.
