Snark Squad Pod #082 – Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (2019)

Previously: We watched every single episode of The Americans

Marines: Chances are that if you’ve listened to previous episodes of the podcast, or if  you follow Nicole and me on Twitter, you’ve seen me trying to convince Nicole to watch the Fast & Furious movies, at least once. It’s hard to explain the nostalgia and joy that I have tied to this mostly ridiculous franchise. Sure, it’s a lot about big set pieces and convoluted plots, but also about FAMILY. Thankfully, I got an assist from the franchise itself when it cast Vanessa Kirby and Idris Elba: Nicole bait.

In order to help us talk about this newest iteration, we’ve invited friends of the pod Lainey Kress and Rich Camillucci. Lainey has a YouTube channel where she talks about writing and reading. She also co-hosts the podcast Novel Tea about the ups and downs of publishing. Also, you can follow her on Twitter. Rich is the president of Arcade Audio and hosts two podcasts of his own – Podswoggle & The Blank Slate. You can keep up with his many projects over on Twitter.

Find out if the star power of this movie was enough to win Nicole over and what us long time fans thought of this spin-off:

I'm a 30-something south Floridan who loves the beach but cannot swim. Such is my life, full of small contradictions and little trivialities. My main life goals are never to take life too seriously, but to do everything I attempt seriously well. After that, my life goals devolve into things like not wearing pants and eating all of the Zebra Cakes in the world. THE WORLD.
