Snark Squad Pod #092 – It’s The End of the World As We Know It

Previously: We re-read The Night Circus and found our love for it had only grown.

Sweeney: Once upon a time, this was going be our Halloween episode and it was going to serve as a lead-in to a Terminator episode. But then life happened and our schedules became chaotic and also we realized that we did not actually want to watch and discuss the Terminator franchise, but somehow this episode remained on our calendar. And then we had to sit down and talk about it and we realized that maybe we didn’t have as much experience with apocalypse stories as we thought?

But we did our best, you guys. I, of course, have thought of at least half a dozen others I wish we had discussed – Good Omens! Space Opera! Annihilation! – but alas! This was a fun one to record because it got a little more speculative and less tied to the specific media we were discussing.

We are joined for this conversation by our dear friends Ceri Riley and Lainey Kress. Ceri is the co-host of both our other podcast Cooler Than Homework and the science podcast SciShow Tangents. Lainey is a booktuber and cohost of the Novel Tea Show.

Nicole is the co-captain of Snark Squad and these days she spends most of her time editing podcasts. She spends too much time on Twitter and very occasionally vlogs and blogs. In her day job she's a producer, editor, director, and sometimes host of educational YouTube channels. She loves travel, maps, panda gifs, and semicolons. Writing biographies stresses her out; she crowd sourced this one years ago and has been using a version of it ever since. She would like to thank Twitter for their help.
