Snark Squad Pod #112 – The Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy by Laini Taylor

Previously: We watched a second season of a show! All hail The Ruth Wilson Stan Club.

Sweeney: I promise I will stop using these post intros as a place to congratulate myself for doing the bare minimum, but listen: this is the first time we have uploaded Snark Squad Pod on consecutive weeks since 2019!! It’s also our fourth week in a row of podcast uploads so avert your eyes! Nobody look too closely at this streak or it will run away! But there is a reason for the back-to-back SSP’s and it’s not that we are returning this podcast to weekly uploads. The actual reason is a bit of a happy coincidence: there’s no Cooler Than Homework ready and this was a convenient opportunity to tweak the upload schedule for the next three episodes of this podcast. (You’ll probably be able to guess why when the next episode goes up!)

ANYWAY. For all of that, this episode about Laini Taylor’s Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy is not actually timely in any way whatsoever. We’re talking about a decade old YA book trilogy that we chose for our Discord book club 9 months ago. However, we all love these books so much that we could probably talk about it for hours at any given time, so we hope you enjoy this somewhat niche content.

We are joined on this episode by our friend and DoSaB stan Chelsea (who has been on the podcast before) who you can find around the internet, but mostly on Twitter. We hope you enjoy listening to us gush about Karou, Taylor’s writing, and all! those! big! themes!
