Snark Squad Pod #050 – My Brilliant Friend (2018)

Previously: We had a lot of feelings about spoilers and spoiler discourse.

Sweeney: We don’t acknowledge it anywhere in the episode, so let me just flail a little here: THIS IS OUR 50TH EPISODE. This project has been the highlight of my 2018 and I am excited to see where we go in 2019. The fact that I now have a standing date to call my best friend once a week and nerd out about media is the best gift I could have given myself. The fact that people have been listening to those conversations and supporting this thing we’re making has been a gift above and beyond. Thanks to everyone who has been following along, and to all of our wonderful guests.

Having dispensed with that, THIS WEEK we are discussing the HBO series My Brilliant Friend, which is an 8 episode miniseries adaptation of Elena Ferrante’s novel of the same name, which we discussed in episode 41.

We are joined once again by Mari’s booktube friend Max. These days, he’s most active on Instagram and Twitter, where he offers thoughtful media commentary, amazing music recommendations and quality Enneagram content.

If you recall from our previous episode, Marines & Max loved the book,, while I had a few more complaints. Find  out what we all thought of this adaptation on this week’s episode:
